Find Your Circus: A Guide to Every Coffee Circus Location

Eleven locations. Eleven personalities. One movement.

One of the first things people notice about Coffee Circus is that no two locations feel the same. That's not an accident — it's the whole point. Each Coffee Circus is built around the community it belongs to, the neighbourhood it sits in, and the personality of the people who run it. The coffee is always exceptional. Everything else is beautifully different.

Here's the story behind every location in the network.

Malta

Coffee Circus Sound — Sliema

44 Ix-Xatt Ta' Qui-Si-Sana

Sound is where Coffee Circus turns up the volume. Situated on Sliema's seafront promenade with harbour views stretching out in front of you, this is the most energetic location in the network. Music is at the heart of everything here — live performances, evening gatherings, a crowd that comes as much for the atmosphere as for the coffee.

If you visit Sound during the day, you'

ll find a buzzing waterfront café with great espresso and the kind of energy that Sliema does better than anywhere else in Malta. Come back in the evening and you'll find something closer to a cultural event — local artists performing, coffee cocktails on the counter, and a community gathered around something worth staying for.

Best for: live music, evening drinks, harbour views, social atmosphere.

Coffee Circus Smile — Rabat

9 Bir Ir-Riebu

Smile sits quietly above one of Malta's most historic towns, and it earns its name. There's a rooftop terrace with views over Rabat's ancient fortifications, a warm and contemplative atmosphere inside, and a menu that takes traditional Maltese food seriously — the ftira here, made with contemporary ingredients, is one of the best things you'll eat on the island.

This is a location for people who want to slow down. The pace is unhurried, the setting is beautiful, and the coffee is exceptional. Smile has become a favourite for quiet meetings, solo work sessions and long weekend breakfasts where nobody is watching the clock. It also hosts its own events — comedy nights, cultural evenings — that feel completely at home in Rabat's historic character.

Best for: quiet work, traditional food, rooftop views, historic atmosphere.

Coffee Circus Connections — Marsaskala

29 Triq Ix-Xatt

Connections is exactly what its name promises. Located on the waterfront in Marsaskala — a real southern Maltese community, not a tourist spot — this café has become the social heart of its neighbourhood. The layout is deliberately communal: shared tables that get pushed together when a group arrives, flexible seating that adapts to whoever walks through the door.

The events here are the stuff of local legend — drum circles on full moon nights, community gatherings, casual evenings that stretch long because nobody wants to leave. Connections has given Marsaskala something it didn't have before: a quality third space that belongs to the community, run by people who genuinely care about the neighbourhood they're part of.

Best for: community events, waterfront dining, relaxed atmosphere, local life.

Coffee Circus Porto — Ta' Xbiex

149 Triq D'Argens

Porto brings a corner of Lisbon to the Maltese marina. Located in Ta' Xbiex with views across the water, this location leans fully into its Portuguese inspiration — authentic Pastéis de Nata sit alongside specialty coffee, vintage roasting equipment lines the walls as décor, and the whole atmosphere has that calm, marina-side quality that makes an hour feel like an afternoon.

It's a refreshing and bright location, with a personality all of its own. If you're looking for somewhere to sit with a good book, watch the boats and drink something genuinely excellent, Porto is hard to beat.

Best for: marina views, Portuguese food, relaxed afternoon visits.

Coffee Circus Lisboa — Valletta

106D Triq San Gwann

Lisboa is Coffee Circus at its most focused. Tucked into a basement space in Malta's capital, this underground location has a medieval atmosphere that immediately sets it apart — stone walls, intimate lighting, and a seriousness about coffee education that you won't find anywhere else in the network.

This is where Coffee Circus runs its most intensive workshops and barista training sessions. It's the kind of place where you come in knowing very little about coffee and leave knowing far more than you expected. Quiet, focused and genuinely special, Lisboa is a hidden gem in the heart of Valletta.

Best for: coffee education, quiet work, workshops, Valletta exploration.

Coffee Circus China — Birzebbuga

37 Pretty Bay

Out at Pretty Bay in Birzebbuga, Coffee Circus China offers something genuinely different. The atmosphere is a warm cultural fusion — East meets Mediterranean — with an Asian-inspired menu running alongside traditional Maltese touches, an extensive vegan and vegetarian offering, and a family-friendly, dog-welcome environment that makes it one of the most relaxed locations in the network.

The red accents and Chinese-inspired décor create a visual identity unlike anything else in the Coffee Circus family, while the coastal setting connects it firmly to Birzebbuga's fishing village roots. It's the kind of place that surprises you — and then keeps you coming back.

Best for: family visits, vegan options, dog-friendly, cultural fusion food.

Coffee Circus Hub — Valletta

The Hub is where the magic actually happens. This is the home of the Valletta roastery — one of Malta's first in-house coffee roasters — where Seven Beans Coffee is roasted fresh every week and distributed to every location in the network. Visiting the Hub means getting closer to the source than anywhere else.

Beyond the roasting operation, the Hub functions as a coffee museum and education centre, with equipment demonstrations, barista training and an ongoing celebration of Malta's coffee heritage. If you want to understand what makes Coffee Circus tick, this is the place to start.

Best for: coffee education, roastery visits, equipment demonstrations, industry professionals.

Coffee Circus TukTuk — Mobile

The one that started it all. The original 2014 concept is still very much alive — a vintage three-wheeled vehicle that brings the Coffee Circus experience directly to wherever the community is gathering. Weddings, festivals, corporate events, village celebrations — the TukTuk has been part of some of Malta's most memorable occasions over the past decade.

It's available to hire for private and corporate events across Malta. If you want specialty coffee and a genuine Coffee Circus atmosphere at your next occasion, this is how you bring it.

Best for: events, weddings, festivals, private functions.

Coffee Circus Riviera — Mellieħa

Triq Għajn Tuffieħa

Out on Malta's most beautiful coastline, Riviera does things differently. This beach kiosk — built with upcycled and organic materials — serves specialty coffee and healthy snacks against a backdrop of some of the island's most spectacular coastal views. It's Coffee Circus stripped back to its essentials: great coffee, a beautiful setting, and nothing unnecessary.

The wellness-focused personality fits perfectly with the Mellieħa coastline, and the sustainable approach to the physical space makes a statement about what Coffee Circus believes in beyond the cup.

Best for: beach visits, coastal views, healthy options, outdoor coffee.

Gozo

Coffee Circus Joy — Marsalforn

Triq il-Wied Marsalforn

Cross to Gozo and you'll find Joy — and the name says everything. Located in the village of Marsalforn, this is one of the most uplifting spaces in the entire network. Natural light pours in, the colour palette is warm and energetic, and the menu leans heavily into fresh vegan and vegetarian preparation in a way that feels genuinely considered rather than token.

Joy connects deeply with Gozo's identity as the island of joy and wellness, offering a café experience that feels as good as it tastes. Whether you're exploring Gozo for a day or spending a week on the island, this is a place worth making time for.

Best for: vegan dining, wellness lifestyle, Gozo exploration, relaxed breakfasts.

Lithuania

Coffee Circus Piano — Vilnius

Mėsinių g. 3

The furthest point in the Coffee Circus network, and one of the most memorable. Piano sits in the heart of Vilnius old town, close to the city's historic landmarks, built around a single defining feature: a large, striking red piano at the centre of the space.

The atmosphere is bohemian and artistic — local artwork on the walls, musicians passing through, homemade cakes and specialty coffee served in a setting that somehow feels both rock and roll and deeply refined. Piano proves that the Coffee Circus philosophy travels — that community, craft and authentic character can take root far beyond Malta and grow into something entirely its own.

Best for: artistic atmosphere, local culture, piano music, Vilnius exploration.
